Travel Tips For Babies 0-4 Months
1 —
Feed Baby When Taking Off / Landing
Breastfeed or Bottle feed when taking off and land to help with altitude changes and ears popping.
2 —
Invest In A Travel System
Invest in a travel only car seat system. I recommend the DOONA and it’s padded carrier case for it. You don’t need to bring the base with you. You can attach car seat via the seat belt in Lyfts or Ubers.
3 —
Check Your Luggage
Check luggage, car seat and stroller. Trust me, you’ll thank me later. Bring a diaper bag and one carry on and check the rest. If you are flying alone, trying to organize your bags so you can easily get to everything. I used the Beís diaper bag, super comfy.
4 —
Get A Separate Boarding Pass For Baby
Since infants are free, getting your baby a boarding pass and “INF” (infant on lap) some airlines will let you carry an extra bag for them. **But make sure you check with your airlines, rules change so quickly.
5 —
Wear A Carrier
Wear baby in carrier on chest when at the airport. So much easier if you are checking the stroller.
6 —
Pack Extra Clothes In Carry On
Pack extra baby clothes and clothes for you in carry on and diaper bag, just in case of blowouts and spit ups.
7 —
Try A Pillow
Breastfeeding? The travel breastfriend pillow helps wonders. Also a small pillow will do the job just as good too!
8 —
Use A Lap Buddy
Lap buddy... make sure your baby can sit up and hold his or her head up before using this product. *note: if you’re in first class you won’t need a lap buddy, you should have plenty of room.
9 —
RELAX
RELAX! Take a breath, babies cry and get fussy, it’s okay. Just try feeding, pacifier/ penguin buddy, diaper change, and maybe put on a movie. Distraction work best!

Travel With A Partner/Friend/Family Member If Possible
So if you traveling with another adult, definitely discuss duties before you leave. Having two diaper bags and two carry ons worked for us for 5 days. I was in charge of the baby and main diaper bag and my husband handled the luggage and getting her car/stroller (Doona) out of the vehicle. *note make sure carry ons have wheels, learned that the hard way lol
