Really can’t go wrong with Cape Town, South Africa…
Our first stop on our honeymoon is Cape Town…
It took us a few months to decide where we wanted to go for our honeymoon, there are just so many great places around the world that we wanted to see. When we decided on Cape Town, we had no idea how much we would love it there!
Below are some things we did on the first stop of our honeymoon, these recommendations are great for couples and solo travellers…
Things to do…
Aquila Game Reserve - Safari? Well Sorta, it’s where they have rescued animals from poachers and they now live safely. Plus there is a spa, pool and dining area!
Robben Island - Take a tour of the then Prison and now museum, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.
V&A Waterfront
Simon’s Town is - Great town to explore.
Boulders Beach Strandbad - Penguin Beach, you can get so close to Penguins here.
Cape Town Helicopter Ride - Warning… it’s very windy in Cape Town and you feel it more in the helicopter, but it’s sooo much fun!
Food & Drink…
Gold Restaurant $$$ - This place is great for authentic African food and an interactive show.
Twankey Bar $$ - Very good drinks, right next to The Taj Hotel in Cape Town.
Gibson's $$$ - Great burgers and shakes.
La Parada $$ - A great lunch spot and place to get drinks on the V& A Waterfront.
Where we stayed:
The Taj Hotel Cape Town - I have to say this hotel ranks up there with service and staff. They gave a great view of Table mountain for our honeymoon and I love the turndown service in the evenings. We definitely want to stay here again!
